As a very rough guide, depending on the day of the week, time of the year, the demand, the location, the amount of hours and the amount of equipment necessary, my rates vary from £200 to £500. I am very competitive for a professional service, but as you can see, rates can vary according to several factors. Give me a call, and I will be happy to provide you with a tailor made quote based on your specific requirements.
I have received lower quotes from other DJs. Will you match or beat them?
There are many different types of DJ, with varying levels of experience, and who generally base their charges on how much they are in demand. The majority of mobile DJs perform as a hobby, usually once or twice a month, and charge fairly low rates to ensure they get a few bookings. However, this type of DJ can often provide a disappointing (and sometimes unreliable) service. The level of service and entertainment I provide is of a very high standard, which comes from performing for many years. I provide a superior service to most part-timers, and base my rates accordingly. You get what you pay for, as with everything. I am willing to negotiate, but the professional rates I charge represent excellent value for my standard of service.
Do you charge extra for travelling to my venue?
All expenses will be included in the quote I give you at the time of your original enquiry. This includes travel costs and the London congestion charge (if applicable). The only additional charge I may need to make would be for parking, if no free parking is available at or adjacent to your venue.
If I book you, how do I know you'll turn up or not cancel at short notice?
All bookings are guaranteed by a simple booking agreement, which I ask you to sign and return to me with your deposit. Once I receive this back from you, you can be safe in the knowledge that when I am booked, I ALWAYS turn up. In the unlikely event of illness, I have a small team of excellent professionals whom I can call on - though in over two decades, this has never once been necessary.
What music do you play?
I carry a massive music collection spanning over seven decades, and as an experienced professional I know my music very well. What music I play at YOUR party entirely depends on the range of ages of the guests present, and their tastes.
Do you accept requests?
Yes, definitely! I always want to find out exactly what songs you and your guests would like to hear. However, please understand that you have booked me for my professionalism and ability to create an atmosphere that will get as many people dancing as possible. Therefore, if we were asked by one guest to play heavy rock, dubstep or gangsta rap at your Grandad's 80th birthday, I will politely refuse. Unless it was Grandad himself that asked me!
How far ahead do I need to book?
I receive a great many bookings up to a whole year in advance, several just a few months before, and some at short notice. One thing is certain: whether far ahead or just days in advance, I am booked EVERY SINGLE weekend of the year. At some point I will be booked for the day you are considering, so the earlier you book, the more chance I will be available for you. Just ring me and check!
Can I come and see you perform somewhere?
Unfortunately this isn't possible. As almost all of my work is at private celebrations, it would not be appropriate for me to invite you along. It is also worth mentioning that no two parties are the same - the music you would hear me playing at one party may be different to what would work at your party. As a professional, I am extremely versatile and never fail to make a success of EVERY party, no matter what music works best.
